Services
R.M.Smith Fencing install fencing panels in Ringwood & throughout Berkshire and Hampshire.
Our fencing panels come in a variety of styles, horizontal overlap is one of the more popular.
We use locally made panels, the quality is very good, and the panels are made from pressure-treated timber.
Call us today.
Panels come in a standard width of 1.8m (6'), but if you need a smaller width, that's no problem.
Panels are available on timber posts - we prefer to install them on 100 x 100mm (4 x 4'') posts, but 75 x 75mm (3 x 3) are also available.

Best described as a compromise between palisade fencing and close board fencing.
Palisade fencing will allow some visibility and plenty of air; close board fencing will allow no visibility and no air.
Hit and miss will allow minimal visibility from certain angles and will allow air to pass through.
Ideal in situations where screening is important but air circulation must be maintained, for example, around bin stores, or where wind levels are high and full screen fencing could deteriorate.
Construction: the rules are fairly flexible, we've constructed many chevron fences, but each seem to have their own unique design.

We have constructed a variety of knee rail fencing, and the height is really up to personal preference, but 450mm and 600mm are popular choices.
100 x 100mm timber posts at 1.8m centres with a 'V' notch in the top to take a 75 x 75mm timber rail set diagonally and secured with a galvanised steel strap.
An attractive form of knee rail is that used by some of our local councils; larger section timber posts with twice weathered tops, with galvanised steel tubes threaded into predrilled holes (see main picture above).

Where high levels of noise are a problem, an acoustic barrier is the answer.
Popular on highways near residential areas, this timber fencing is quite effective at reducing noise levels and it's all down to the design of the fence.
Due to the design and the steel section posts, the fence is very strong, but easily repaired should any damage occur.
At the heart of the design is the need to reduce gaps that may let noise through.
Where the fencing is required for a domestic situation, it is best to scale down the posts to a more aesthetically pleasing timber.

They can be a good security measure but can also be an attractive form of fencing.
The general construction of metal railings comprises of two flat horizontal rails, round or square bars and box section, tubular or RSJ posts.
The standard range of vertical bar will have each of these components at standard sizes, heights and spacing, and prices will reflect the common nature of the product.
However, although there is a standard range of vertical bar, railings can be made to measure, so almost anything is possible.
