Often know as 'Siltex' of 'Microchalk' our environmentally friendly application of ultra fine granulated chalk stimulates the natural breakdown of organic silt and detritus.
It's a cost-effective alternative to dredging and, when used as part of a management or restoration plan, greatly extends the life of any body of water by increasing the rate of natural aerobic silt decomposition, ultimately lowering silt levels.
It increases oxygen levels, neutralises acidity released from rotting leaf-fall and improves water quality, leading to greater biodiversity of fish, plants and wildlife.
For situations where silt has accumulated to such an extent that it threatens the future existence of a body of water, mechanical removal of the silt in one form or another is required.
The process often involves de-watering to fully the access the silt effectively.
Mechanical dredging: A very effective form of de-silting.
Many projects require the use of a long-reach excavator.
Once the lake is de-watered, machines can enter the lake crater and cast silts to dumpers for treatment and disposal.
We are specialists in the management and removal of bankside and submerged trees and vegetation.
Overgrown or un-managed bankside tree growth is one of the most common reasons for ponds and lakes to fall into decline.
We utilise specialist equipment to cut and remove overgrown trees, often revealing large areas of water and bank which were previously redundant.
Our specialist equipment includes underwater chainsaws and powerful, unlimited-reach winches.
Access is made safer and easier, and environmental damange is limited, by installing bespoke waterside features.
We can design and install all manner of purpose built structures, from beautiful Green Oak creations to highly functional fibreglass composites and modular floating pontoons.
We have a passion for working with Green Oak and other quality timber, fabricating bespoke installations in our workshops prior to installation - or creating something special on site - for you to enjoy in your own surroundings.
