Jimmy Charleton started off the business at the age of only 16 with 20 and he has now grown the company to the million pound turnover company it is today.
Charleton Fencing now has a team of 14 staff erecting fences and 3 office staff at their premises near Chester le Street.
Jimmy aimed to get a couple of contracts to start him off and he just grew the business from there to the size it is today.
Jimmy still even after 45 years has hands on approach with the business, going out erecting fences and pricing up work up.
